Your face muscles needs your attention too!
July 18th, 2007
You know exercise helps keeps your body muscles toned, looking and feeling young. When you’re exercising, you can actually feel the muscles contracting and if you keep it up for any length of time, the muscles become firmer, plumped up and more compact. The same physics apply to your facial muscles as well!
Most of us habitually use only a select few face muscles on our face, eventually creating an imbalance between those most and least used. Over time as we age, because the underlying muscles become elastic they are unable to support the skin tissue attached to them. As a result the skin loses its ability to regenerate new tissue and its ability to moisturize itself causing bags under the eyes, flabby cheeks and wrinkled sagging skin.
By carefully and consistently adhering to doing facial exercises, you will be able to tone and strengthen the facial muscles so that your face becomes more sculpted and younger-looking. However, the vast majority of individuals can not move all the muscles most responsible for lifting the facial structure. This is because there is no conscious neurological connection to these muscles. Although some exercises can be useful, they must be done right, and worse, if they are done wrong or the wrong exercise is performed, it can cause the opposite effect of a less desirable look.
