Do’s :
1. Snack Right! Instead of snacking on junk food, snack on celery sticks, apples, oranges and fruits.
2. Never skip breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day.
3. Always consume fresh fruits as processed fruits usually contain high sugar.
Don’ts:
1. Never overcook vegetables as it will kill all the nutrients contained in the vegetables.
2. Regular fast food is bad for health as processed meat contains a lot of fats.
3. Skip the internal organs of animals as they are high in cholesterol and toxins.

Healthy diet does not mean reducing food intake or lose weight, instead, it is more about eating right.
Instead of just eating one type of food, you should include more variety of food in your diet. Let’s look at the examples now:
1. Consume lots of vege, grains and fruits because they provide essential nutrients that your body needs.
2. Always select lean meat if possible, go for white meat such as chicken and fish instead of red meat.
3. Reduce caffeine, alcohol and salt intake as they dehydrate you.
4. Drink lots of water, at least 2L a day!

As we have discussed earlier, bad day time habits can lead to insomnia or lower quality of sleep. Now, let’s continue to see what are the better day time habits we should have:
4. Food and drinks
Food that can cause heartburn, will also negatively affect your sleep. For example, tomato-based foods or beverages and spicy foods are the biggest instigators of heartburn. Heartburn will usually intensify when you lie down, which then causes much discomfort during sleep and that discomfort often cause you to wake often during sleep. Other than that, over consumption of liquids, caffeinated, alcoholic will also cause you to wake frequently too because you’ll have to urinate more.
5. Regular nappings
You may love to nap and you might be napping several times a day. Napping might be a cause of your sleep issues by disturbing the workings of your inner clock or by causing you to need fewer hours of sleep during the night. If you had to, just take a short nap not more than 30 minutes or stop napping entirely and see if doing so enhances your sleep time.

A good night sleep is important for all of us as it will help us to recharge and stayed energized the next day. However, some bad day time habits will cause us to have lower quality sleep at night.
If you wish to have a good night sleep, keep these tips in mind!
1. Exercise Regularly
Make it a habit to exercise daily. Avoid strenuous exercise in the evening as it can raise your body temperature and causing you to have a harder time sleeping. It’s much easier to fall asleep when body temperature is lower.
2. Caffeine
Avoid coffee, soda, tea and some energy drinks that contain this stimulant. If you think caffeine might be affecting your sleep, eliminate all caffeine in the afternoon and evening for a few days and see if there is any difference in your sleep.
3. Alcohol Or Nicotine
Some may have the misconception that alcohol helps you sleep. No doubt, alcohol can bring sleep on faster, but it may cause you to wake more often through out your sleep. Nicotine withdrawals occur while you sleep so the need to light up may cause you to wake more frequently.
